A collection of lore, thoughts and stories about Selryna, the Warrior of Light. Click to read.

This is just where I put all of my jumbled thoughts about Sel and her lore. I know for a fact there are inconsistencies in plot here and some stuff I'm misremembering, but I'll be doing New Game+ soon to sort it out!

Selryna is a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te from the G tribe.
She was born G'ryna, and G'raha is her twin brother. They were both born with one green eye, one red eye, but only G'raha awoke the Allagan Eye. They both went to Sharlayan together, but Ryna wasn’t much for studying, so she went off on her own to adventure. She eventually changed her name to Selryna, as she was now separate from her twin and as kind of a joke (Sellsword G’ryna = SelRyna) and it just stuck. Only G’raha calls her by her birth name Ryna anymore.
Reuniting with her brother during the Crystal Tower Ark
In Heavensward she fell in love with Haurchefant and they had a very passionate, yet brief relationship. She became very close with his father and they both mourned together when he was killed. Having already lost her twin, the loss of Haurchefant broke her, and she swore never to make herself that vulnerable again.
Selryna and Urianger develop a close bond as they comfort each other over the loss of those so dear to them. They both begin to develop feelings for each other, but neither one will accept nor admit it to each other, both having suffered so much. Y’shtola, perceptive as she is, sees this and approaches Urianger, and Thancred, the first Scion Selryna met, and her best friend approaches her. Both basically say the same thing, that they shouldn’t be afraid to seize happiness when they find it, and they’d be fools to let it slip away. In an all too rare moment alone, both Selryna and Urianger finally admit their affections for each other and share a hesitant, tentative, yet still somehow passionate embrace. Even after that, the two are still very private with their relationship, wanting it to be for them and them alone. They aren’t intimate around others and only share brief touches, caresses and embraces whenever they can snatch a private moment. Urianger calls Selryna his “Bright One”, and when he’s feeling particularly affectionate, she is his “Little Star”.
When Urianger collapses after he is called to the First by the Exarch, Selryna is beside herself with fear and only leaves his bedside out of necessity. She is terrified of losing him and berates herself for breaking her own promise.
Upon arriving on the First and meeting the Crystal Exarch, she is filled with hope that the Crystal Exarch could be G’raha Tia, her twin, her other half. But he is so different from the Raha she knows, and his elusiveness makes her unsure. Deep down she knows, but again doesn’t want to believe it for fear of losing him yet again.
Selryna’s reunion with Urianger filled her with worry. For him they had been separated for 3 years, but for her it had been only days. What if he no longer cared for her in that way?
They finally see each other for the first time, and Selryna, reaches out to him, but stops herself, hesitant. Seeing the worry in her eyes, Urianger smiles warmly and takes her hand. “Worry not, Bright One,” he tells her “Mine affection for thee hath not been diminished by these long years spent apart. Thou art still my Little Star” Selryna is flooded with relief and they embrace, despite the fact that Thancred is present.

Pure"I think she's coming to."
"Ryna? Can you hear me?"
Selryna's vision cleared, and she saw that she was surrounded by her friends. She sat up with a jolt, looking at her hands, feeling her face. It was her face! She was back in her own body. She was herself again.
"Was anyone hurt?" She nearly shouted, eyes searching those gathered around her. "Raha? Urianger? Is everyone-?"
"We're alright, thanks to you." Raha was there beside her, and Selryna flung her arms around him, crushing him to her. Her twin returned the embrace.
"I'm so glad" she sighed. She looked up again, and this time met eyes with Urianger at the back of the crowd. He gave her a soft smile and she could see the relief on his face.
………………………………..
Selryna made her way behind one of the structures, out of sight from the others as they went about their business. It had taken everything she had not to fall apart in front of everyone, but she couldn't hold it in anymore. Her body trembled, her stomach clenched, Selryna doubled over, violently sick upon the snow.
A gentle hand was laid on her shoulder, and whoever it was simply stroked her back as she heaved again and again. At last, the waves of nausea ceased and Selryna collapsed against the building. She looked up at her companion, tears streaming down her face.
"Oh, Selryna…" Urianger sighed, kneeling beside her "To see thee in such anguish, my only wish is to lift thy burdens away so thou might be at peace."
"Urianger…" was all that escaped her lips as she was wracked with sobs. Selryna wrapped her arms tightly about herself, as if in letting go she would fall apart. Urianger simply took the trembling Miqo'te into his arms and pulled her into his lap, cradling her against his chest as she wept. He held her so tightly, hoping that the strength of his embrace might give Selryna the feeling of security she so desperately needed.
"That monster was in my body" She muttered, voice quivering with rage, or was it fear? "They ripped me out of my own flesh and Zenos took control of it!"
"Peace, Bright One, peace." Urianger stroked her hair "Thou art thyself once more, in thine own form."
"I don't feel like myself, Urianger. I don't feel safe in my own flesh, . Everything feels wrong." She dropped her gaze, and said sadly: "I feel so tainted."
Urianger abruptly lifted Selryna's face so that her eyes met his piercing gaze.
"You are not tainted!" He said sharply, his usual eloquence forgotten, eyes boring into hers. "You are as you should be. Beautiful, perfect, strong." He crushed Selryna to him, embracing her once more. Slipping back into his normal manner of speaking, he continued: "Thou art Selryna. My Bright One. There is nothing in existence that could possibly taint thee. Not even Zenos. Never believe for an instant that anything could."
He kissed her then, so gently. Selryna could feel the strength of Urianger's affection and it felt as though she were being washed clean in the purity of it.
Urianger had spoken true.
Nothing could possibly taint this.
